Anointed One Explained
One on behalf of many An anointed one is a person chosen and appointed to do something on behalf of many, and even someone who can do what the many cannot do for themselves, whether it be a high priest, a priest, a king, a prophet, a place, like the tabernacle, and even a Rock, amongst the many. A specific person or thing that is a representative, and mediating place between God and heaven, and Jesus is the only qualifier, and the others are shadow types, and now annointed ones follow in Hesus example, in partnership with the Holy Spirit, as mobile representatives, to demonstrate Gods full purpose and plan in other capacity bearing image bearers.

Yes — that is a strong peg:
“One on Behalf of Many”#
An anointed one is a person, place, or representative object chosen and appointed by God to stand on behalf of many.
That one may do what the many cannot do for themselves, or visibly represent what the many are called into. This can be seen in:
High priest — one bears the names of the tribes before God. Priest — one serves at the altar and handles holy things on behalf of the people. King — one rules, defends, judges, and represents the people. Prophet — one speaks the word of God to the people. Tabernacle/temple — one appointed dwelling-place where God meets with man. Stone/Rock/altar/contact point — one place marked as meeting-point between heaven and earth.
But all of these are shadow anointed ones.
Jesus is the only true and fully qualified Anointed One.
He is the true High Priest, true King, true Prophet, true Tabernacle, true Temple, true Stone, true Rock, true Altar, true Offering, true Mediator, and true meeting-place between God and man.
The others could only represent in part. Jesus fulfills the whole office.
So the pattern becomes:
one chosen → one anointed → one appointed → one representing many → one doing what the many cannot do → one opening the way for the many.
And then, after Jesus’ death, resurrection, exaltation, and sending of the Spirit, believers become anointed representatives in Him, not independent messiahs beside Him.
That is the guardrail:
Believers are not replacement Christs. Believers are not independent mediators. Believers are Spirit-anointed image bearers in union with the one Christ.
Now the many, who could not save themselves, are brought into partnership with the Holy Spirit as living stones, royal priests, ambassadors, witnesses, and mobile representatives of God’s purpose.
So the final form could be:
An anointed one is the one appointed on behalf of the many. In the shadows, priests, kings, prophets, holy places, stones, and altars all carried partial representative meaning. But Jesus alone is the fully qualified Anointed One — the one Mediator, the true Priest-King, the true Temple, the true Rock, and the one who does for the many what the many could never do for themselves. Then, through union with Him and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, His people become living representatives, not as independent mediators, but as mobile image bearers who display God’s manifold wisdom and walk out His purpose in the earth.
Scripture ropes that fit this peg:
Exodus 28:12, 29 — the high priest bears the tribes before the LORD. Exodus 40:9–15 — tabernacle, altar, vessels, and priests are anointed. Genesis 28:18–22 — Jacob anoints the stone at Bethel, the house/contact point of God. 1 Samuel 16:13 — David is anointed, and the Spirit comes upon him. Isaiah 61:1 — the Anointed One has the Spirit and is sent. Luke 4:18–21 — Jesus claims that anointed fulfillment. Hebrews 9:11–12 — Christ enters as High Priest by His own blood. 1 Peter 2:4–5, 9 — believers become living stones and royal priesthood in Him. 2 Corinthians 1:21–22 — God establishes and anoints believers in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20 — believers are ambassadors for Christ. Ephesians 3:10 — through the church, God displays His manifold wisdom.
